Frequently Asked Questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. WebP Converter runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your files never leave your device.
Can I convert WebP back to JPG or PNG?
Yes. This tool works in both directions — upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image and choose any of the three formats as your output.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent areas will be filled with white. Converting to WebP or PNG keeps transparency intact.
Why convert images to WebP?
WebP typically produces smaller files than JPG or PNG at similar visual quality, which helps pages load faster while supporting both transparency and lossy compression.
Is there a file size limit?
You can convert images up to 25MB. Larger files may be slow to process depending on your device.
Can I convert multiple images at once?
Yes. Add up to 100 images in one batch, convert them all to the same output format, then download each one individually or all together as a ZIP.
